There are two major styles of ballroom, International and American. Each has two large divisions: for International, there are Standard and Latin; for American, there are Smooth and Rhythm. Each subdivision has five dances within it, except for only four in American smooth. There are also a variety of social dances that are routinely part of the ballroom packages if you wish.
You might want to check the franchise studios' websites. There are a bunch of Fred Astaire studios, some quite good, and a few Arthur Murrays as well. For independent studios, you can simply try the yellow pages or look in the studio locators at or .

That's not the only ballroom dance. I take lessons too. There's Salsa, Tango, Waltz, Vienese Waltz, Quick Step, Jive, Swing, Foxtrot, Lindy Hop, Mambo, Cha-Cha, and Merengue. There are obscure ones too.

P.S. I live in florida too!
