Do two women ever perform ballroom or tango dancing on stage?

ballroom dancing

I know this may sound like some “lesbian” question but it’s not. I love the art of ballroom dancing (I love dancing in general). However, I rarely see two girls dancing together. Is there some kind of set-standard regarding dance partners?

As a tango fan and dancer I have seen woman dancing many times together but I have not seen it yet on stage. I have seen a movie here and there where that is featured.

There isn’t any restriction preventing women from dancing together. When women learn to dance, they are primarily taught to follow. The only time you see women who are able to lead are those who have been dancing for a while and are interested in either learning more or teaching. So these women start to learn what the men are normally taught.

I find in the ballroom world that many women just do not want to have to think so much. They would rather just be led and have fun.

I’ve seen it at my dance studio before. For any of the dances.

Definately. I have seen two of my tango teachers, at Tango West in Bristol dance together at the Bristol Harbour Festival.
It looks good as I remember with one in trousers, but equally good with both or neither.
